2 lbs. fresh spinach, chopped
½ lb. feta cheese (preferably sheep's milk)
1 large onion, diced (or 6 bunches of scallions, chopped)
¼ cup olive oil
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp salt, or to taste
1 tsp fresh crushed black pepper
Juice of 1 lemon
1 lb. phyllo dough (approx. 20 sheets)
½ cup butter or vegetable shortening, melted for brushing

In a 13 X 18 pan, individually brush 10 layers of phyllo with the melted butter and lay them atop one another.
Mix all remaining ingredients by hand and spread the mix evenly over the phyllo.
Layer the remainder of the phyllo, again brushing each layer with butter.
Before baking, cut the pie into 4" X 4" squares.
Bake on the lower rack of the oven at 450 degrees for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cook covered for 20 minutes on medium-low heat.
Serve with Yogurt Sauce.
