Abe's Eyepiece Reviews

The saying is that the eyepiece is half of your telescope. It's true that eyepiece selection makes a big difference in both what you will see and also in how enjoyable it will be looking through your telescope. There are a currently a wide variety of eyepiece designs that trade off many factors including cost, optical complexity, light transmission, apparent field of view, eye relief, spherical abberations, chromatic abberations, the "kidney-bean" effect, flatness of the field of view, the location of the focal plane, weight, barrel diameter, and many other parameters. Here is a selection of eyepiece reviews that I've written based upon experience using a selection of eyepieces of various designs.
